The app for licensed tour guides
AskTour is the free app for licensed tour guides in Italy, for iPhone and Android. When a guide can't do a tour, they hand it over to another licensed guide; when they have a free day, they take on the tours other guides can't do. In the same app they keep their calendar, the month's earnings, their guests' reviews and a showcase of their own tours, which travelers book on the website.
Handing over a tour you can't do
Something comes up the night before, two groups overlap, a tour is in a language you speak less well. In the app you tap the plus button, pick the tour from your calendar or add it on the spot, check the details and tap Hand off the tour.
The request only goes to licensed guides in your region who speak the language of the tour and don't already have a tour booked at that time. When a guide takes it, you get a notification and a chat opens between the two of you for the last details. If nobody takes it, the tour stays yours and we let you know when the request expires.
Taking on a tour when you have time
When another guide hands over a tour that suits you, you get a notification. Before deciding you can read everything: who is handing it over and the fee, date, times, guests, language and meeting point, the type of tour and the agency, whether an invoice is needed, who takes care of tickets and headsets. If it works for you, you take it with one tap and it goes into your calendar.
Calendar and earnings
In the calendar you add your tours with day, time, guests, language, agency, meeting point and fee, as well as personal commitments. Only you can see them: they become visible to other guides only when you hand one over. And if you already have a tour at a certain time, you won't receive requests for that time.
In earnings you find the month's completed tours grouped by agency: the total, what you have already been paid and what you are still owed. With one tap you mark the invoice as issued and the payment as received.
Reviews and public page
At the end of the tour you show a QR code in the app: guests scan it with their own phone and leave you a review, without downloading anything. Only people who took part in the tour can write one.
Reviews appear on your public page, together with your photo, your introduction, your region, the year you were licensed and the languages you speak. It's a link you can send to agencies, put in your Instagram bio or share with anyone who asks you for a tour.
The showcase: your tours, bookable on the website
In the app you create a tour for your showcase by answering one question at a time: the description, the photos, the length, the price per person, days and times, the meeting point, what's included. We review it before it goes online.
The tour page is also available in English and Spanish, and travelers book on the website with no app and no account. For every booking you get a notification and you decide whether to confirm it. The payment goes straight to you.
Who can use AskTour
AskTour is reserved for licensed tour guides. When signing up you choose your region and enter your license number, or scan the QR code on your digital badge: number, date and region fill in automatically. We check your license within 24 hours and let you know by email.
Licensed guides only
Every profile is checked before it is approved: whoever takes your tour is a verified guide.
